The Davis & Elkins Senators Women's Tennis team got back on track in a 7-0 shutout over hosting Ursuline College on Wednesday afternoon in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
The Senators did not drop a game through singles or doubles play, completing a rare feat known as a "Golden Match".
Taylour Newman and
Ester Bolmenas won 6-0 at #1 doubles, and
Karin Rosario and
Valentine Schwartz won 6-0 at #2 doubles to clinch the doubles point. #3 doubles and #6 singles were won by default, as the Arrows only fielded a lineup of five players.
Laura Vargas won 6-0, 6-0 in her first career match at #1 singles.
Ester Bolmenas was victorious 6-0, 6-0 at #2 singles.
Valentine Schwartz (#3 singles) and
Karin Rosario (#4 singles) continued their sweep with 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Julianna Singleton got her first career win, in a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance at #5 singles.
The Senators will travel to Owensboro, KY this weekend for a GMAC match against Kentucky Wesleyan. Start time is set for 4:00 PM Central Time at Moreland Park in Owensboro.
