The Senators picked up a full weekend split in their series against the visiting Ohio Dominican Panthers on Saturday, winning the first game 7-4, but falling 27-9 in game two.
An ODU balk plated the first run for D&E to back starting pitcher
Brent McMillion with a 1-1 tie in the first inning.
Shawn Pass gave the Senators a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth, when his double scored
Guiseppe Orlando and
Brandon Plummer.
Grayson Caldwell,
Ryan Savitt,
Chase DeGrood, and
Andre Ramirez all hit RBI singles in a big sixth inning for the Senators to give them a 7-4 lead.
Tanner Wickham and
Max Larimore pitched in relief of McMillion, who picked up the win behind four strong innings, allowing four hits, two runs, and striking out seven.
In Game 2, the Senators and Panthers were tied 6-6 through three innings, when ODU blew the game open with a 12 run fourth inning.
Andre Ramirez had a big game at the plate for the Senators, going 2-5 with four runs batted in.
Chase DeGrood went 2-4 with two RBIs, and
Justin Worley had two hits.
The Senators will host Concord University on Wednesday at Harpertown Field. Game time is set for a 3 PM start.
