ELKINS, W.Va - Senators fight until the end but fall in close battle against Lees-McRae this evening on Nuttall Field.
Davis & Elkins started off with a lot of energy, getting the first one in with Matt Dyck only a minute into the game.
Both team kept a close game and each one scored four goals in the first quarter.
After Dyck scored,
Trevor Kennedy, assisted by
Tyler Kolodka,
Bobby Palermo, assisted by
Ian Nelson, and
Matt O'Dwyer, assisted by
Aidan O'Dwyer, joined the list of scorers who maintained the game time tied until the end of the period.
Matt Dyck scored his second of the day for the Senators two minutes into the second period. However, D&E conceded three goals to the visitors, who took a 7-5 lead into halftime.
After the break, the visitors kept pushing and scoring goals but the Senators, after scoring one with
Aidan O'Dwyer, started a reaction towards the end, scoring four more goals in the quarter. Dyck would score two more, followed by Noland Morrison, and Palermo.
The visitors led the game 12-10 in the beginning of the last quarter, when six goals took place, four for Lees-McRae and two for the Senators.
Nelson gave Morrison another assist and Palermo scored his third in the game, the last one for D&E, assisted by
Trevor Kennedy, ending the game at 16-12.
Kyle Seago was in goal for the Senators and made 16 saves in tonight's match.
The Senators will return to action this Sunday as they face Mercyhurst University on the road for a non-conference play. The game is set for 7:00 PM.
