Edmund Parker scored a season-high 37 points in a 92-89 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday night.
The first half was back-and-forth between the opponents. D&E jumped ahead, scoring seven three-point shots, including five by Parker, and shooting 68 percent in the first period, taking a 46-40 lead into halftime. Parker was 8-for-8 from long range early on in the game.
The hosts returned from the locker room and took advantage of D&E's turnovers, taking the lead for big part of the second half.
The Senators kept finding the basket, taking an 84-83 lead with 2:16 on the clock.
However, Kentucky Wesleyan managed to hold off the Senators, scoring their seven last points off free-throws, securing the 92-89 win.
Parker finished with 37, and was followed by Trevor English, who scored 19 points, picked up seven rebounds, and seven assists.
Marcus Friend had 12 points in the game and picked up two steals.
The Senators will return to action this Saturday to play Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville for a G-MAC contest. The game is set for 5:15 PM.
