ELKINS, W.Va. - The Davis and Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Ohio Valley University 97-95 for a G-MAC contest this evening at McDonnell Center.
Even though the Senators started off showing a clear superiority, it was a close game in the first ten minutes of the match, when D&E led by 23-21.
The Senators picked up 23 rebounds in the first period of the game, which helped them to take a 51-48 lead into halftime.
D&E came back from the locker room in a slower rhythm and let the visitors get closer. Seven minutes into the second half, OVU took the lead and refused to lose it again.
The visitors turned the ball over fewer times than the Senators throughout the game, 13 against 17.
D&E shot 47.8 percent and scored 53.3 percent of the free-throws, going 16-for-30.
Trevor English was the top scorer in the game with 26 points. English also had impressive 20 of Davis and Elkins' 48 rebounds and gave five assists.
Marcus Friend had five steals and was the second leader in points, picking up 21 in the game, followed by
Edmund Parker, who scored 18 this evening.
The Davis and Elkins College Men's Basketball team will get back on the road to face Ohio Dominican University this Saturday for a G-MAC play. The game is set for 3:00 PM
