Balanced Senators Hand Mondragon First Career Victory at D&E

ELKINS, W. Va. – Four players registered double figures, led by a team-high 18 points for Donte Doleman, as Davis & Elkins stuck 11 three-pointers in an 88-83 victory over Ohio Valley on Thursday night inside the McDonnell Center.

The win is the first for head coach Daniel Mondragon since taking the reigns of the program, and his team featured several impressive performances on both sides of the ball. Doleman added a pair of steals and three rebounds in addition to his 18 points, while Terrance Lakes posted 14 points with four rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Ohio Valley (0-3) trimmed a double-digit halftime deficit to as little as four late in the second half, but only had a lead after its first basket of the night as the Senators stayed in control much of the way. Ognjen Vasiljevic notched a game-high 20 points for the Fighting Scots, one of four players in double figures. David Adeyemo was a force inside with 12 rebounds and four blocks in addition to his 12 points.

Teemu Tumanoff registered a career-high 13 points behind four made three's and Erkam Kiris chipped in 11 points in 21 minutes before ultimately fouling out.
