BUCKHANNON, W. Va. – Propelled by two players with double-digit kill performances and a stout effort at the net, Davis & Elkins took down West Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1, to win its fourth consecutive match in Mountain East Conference (MEC) play.
 
Winning by set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-10, Davis & Elkins improves to 10-5 on the season with a 4-1 mark in league play. Meanwhile, West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 4-11 and 2-3 in the league.
 
The Senators were led by senior 
Kaitlyn LaCour, who smacked 21 kills, added 14 digs and recorded four block assists, all while hitting .309 in the process. 
Solei Daniels chipped in 10 kills off the bench, while 
Raleighanne Weaver was a force at the net with eight block assists.
 
On the defensive end, four players had at least 13 digs, led by 14 each by 
Kelly Smith and Lacour. Davis & Elkins dropped the first set of the night, but rallied back to win each of the final three sets, including a big run to begin the match-clinching fourth frame.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
	- Set One: A quick run to begin the opening set put WVWC up 8-4 and the Bobcats secured four of the final five points for the opening set victory. 
 
	- Set Two: Daniels fired in a kill to make it 12-6, prompting a Bobcats timeout. A 6-0 run, highlighted by two service aces from Smith, made it 18-8. 
 
	- Set Three: Consecutive blocks from Weaver and LaCour put the Senators in front by one and the vistors withstood a late 3-0 run from West Virginia Wesleyan for the set victory. 
 
	- Set Four: D&E stormed out of the gate in the fourth set, opening up a 15-1 edge with Lillie Mueller at the service line and never looked back. 
 
MATCH NOTES
	- LaCour posted her second match of the season with 20 or more kills. She had a career-high 25 kills against IUP on September 13. 
 
	- Daniels added her second straight match with 10 or more kills. 
 
	- Weaver had an all-around effort with seven kills and eight block assists. 
 
	- Sarah Warren recorded another double-double for the senators with 25 assists and 13 digs.
