Volleyball is in action only once this week, making the trip to Buckhannon on Tuesday night to take on the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan. The Senators are riding a three-match win streak, following a four-set win over Glenville State on Saturday.
Essence West is coming off a big game for D&E, as her 12 kill performance led the way for the Senators over Glenville State.
Kelly Smith smacked four aces in a three-set victory against Concord on October 4 and added 33 digs in a pair of matches last week.

West Virginia Wesleyan enters Tuesday's matchup with a 4-10 overall mark and an even 2-2 record in conference play. The Bobcats also played Concord and Glenville State in their last two games, going 1-1 in that span with a 3-1 win against Concord and a 3-1 loss to Concord.

Cross Country Battles for National Supremacy at Royals XC Challenge

The Senators cross country teams will look to continue their strong start at the Royals XC Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. This will be one of the toughest meets on the east coast this season, featuring over 50 schools and regionally-ranked programs from four different regions. As of the October 2nd USTFCCA National Poll, four top-25 programs will be running in the men's race, and one top-25 as well as three other teams receiving votes on the women's side. The race could have big implications for postseason berths, as the Senators women's team, led by freshmen
Svea Timm and
Claire Otte, looks to defend their number one ranking in the Atlantic Region. The men's team, led by
Matthew Chapman, looks to improve upon their fourth-pace ranking in the Atlantic Region and jump into the top three.

Women's Tennis Takes Part in Inaugural Hollins Invitational

D&E will head to Roanoke, Va. for the Hollins Invitational on Saturday. This tournament will feature a unique dual match format in which each team will play three singles matches and two doubles matches at the same time, and players can only play in one event. The Senators will play against Division III Salem (N.C.) first, and host institution Hollins in the afternoon.

Men's soccer makes the trip to Ohio to take on Urbana on Saturday evening. The Blue Knights have had a penchant for the draw this season, with three ties on their record, while the Senators will be coming off a home game against Wheeling. This will be the first meeting between the two programs since September 2012, when Urbana knocked off the Senators 2-1. D&E will conclude the season series by hosting UU on October 27th.

The Senators will end the week at home, welcoming Urbana to Nuttall Field on Sunday afternoon. D&E has locked things down defensively, winning each of its last three matches by a 1-0 count entering Wednesday's game against Fairmont State. Meanwhile, Urbana travels to West Liberty for a midweek matchup before heading to Elkins on Sunday. All four of the Blue Knights victories have come in conference play this season.

The men's golf team will play its second tournament of the week following the MEC Championships. D&E was in third place following the first round of the conference championships, sitting just two shots off the team lead.
Patrick Smith was tied for fourth in the MEC Championships at the time of release, while
Evan Lewis was in a tie for 10th place. The WLU Invitational will mark the final event of the fall for the Senators.
