ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team fell to Kentucky Wesleyan 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest play at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators held leads in each of the sets, but were unable to fight off Kentucky Wesleyan, who took the sets 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.
Raleighanne Weaver led the Senators with eight kills, while
Solei Daniels had seven kills and
Kaitlyn LaCour finished with six.
Daniels was a bright spot for the Senators, stepping in after injuries let in the first set. Daniels finished with a .412 attacking percentage.
Jessa Henry had 25 assists, while
Briana Hoffmann and
Kelly Smith each finished with two.
Defensively,
Lillie Mueller led the Senators up front, joining in on seven blocks for Davis & Elkins.
Kelly Smith led Davis & Elkins with 13 digs. The only other Senator in double figures was LaCour, who finished with 12. Henry had seven digs.
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Sunday wrapping up a set of three conference matches in three days. The Senators will face Ohio Dominican at 2 p.m. in the McDonnell Center.
