HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Tennis team was shutout in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play Sunday afternoon at Hillsdale College, falling 9-0.
Davis & Elkins was forced into lineup changes before the match and the Senators struggle to adjust early on, getting swept in doubles.
Kelsie Roby and
Elise Simon had the best double match for Davis & Elkins, falling 8-3 in the No. 3 match against Katie Bell and Julia Formentin.
Simon also had the tightest battle in singles, playing up at the No. 1 match, instead of her usual No. 2 spot, where she fell 6-2, 6-3 to Halle Hyman.
Ester Bolmenas also had a competitive match in the No. 3 position. Bolmenas dropped both of her sets 6-2 to Bell.
Davis & Elkins will return to action next Friday as the Senators travel to Kentucky to face Kentucky Wesleyan. The match is set for first serve at 3 p.m.
