WHEELING, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Lacrosse team dropped its eight straight, as the Senators fell at No. 10 Lake Erie College 22-6 Tuesday afternoon.
The Senators gave up six goals in the first 7:30 of the contest before scoring its only goal of the first quarter that saw the hosts jump out to a 12-1 lead.
Haydn Sitler scored the first goal for the Senators off of an assist from
Matthew Dyck.
Sitler then set up
Bryce McBee for a goal early in the second quarter that made it 13-2 and started a run of alternating goals the lasted into the fourth quarter.
With the man advantage, Dyck also scored in the second quarter for the Senators, who went into the break trailing 15-3.
Kyle Durec scored both goals for the Senators in the third quarter and closed out the game following six straight goals from the Storm with the final goal, earning a hat trick.
The Senators were outshot 62-25, including 1 40-13 shots on goal margin. D&E had 27 turnovers in the game, a large porting of going just 18-for-33 on clearances.
Davis & Elkins was outrebounded 44-26 in the game, including a 21-11 faceoff margin in favor of the hosts.
The Senators will return to action on April 10, taking on another nationally ranked opponent, as #4 Seton Hill travels to Elkins. The game is set for a 4 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
