Men's Lacrosse Falls to #4 Seton Hill

ELKINS - The Davis and Elkins College Men's Lacrosse team fell 28-4 to No. 4 Seton Hill Tuesday afternoon at Nuttall Field in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.

The Senators scored four goals but weren't able to keep pace with the Griffins throughout the game.

After conceding an early goal in the first minute, D&E conceded another eight goals in the first quarter of the match and 10 straight before they could get settled in and generate offense.

Though Seton Hill scored again in the beginning of the second quarter, the hosts came back more aggressively into the game and scored six minutes into the period with Kyle Durec's goal, assisted by Aidan O'Dwyer.

The Griffins scored the next three goals, but D&E would respond scoring two of the final three goals in this quarter with Ian Nelson's effort just shy of 10 minutes in and Matt O'Dwyer, who scored after an assisted by Jordan Waddell with 1:55 minutes left in the half.

The Senator struggles in the second half, conceding 12 goals in the 3rd quarter of the match while only getting one shot off in the period.

The game slowed down in the final. Seton Hill kept the advantage moving the ball around and beating the Senators' defense two times in 63 seconds, with the later coming with 4:31 remaining.

D&E would add one more goal late, with Haydn Sitler scoring the final goal of the match with 43 seconds remaining on an unassisted play while the Senators were on the man advantage.

The Senators' goalkeepers Kyle Seago and Luke Norcross played one half each. Seago had seven saves and Norcross stopped five shots from the Griffins.

Davis and Elkins returns to action on Sunday against Walsh at home in another G-MAC battle. That game is set for a 1 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
