ELKINS, W.Va. - The Davis and Elkins College Men's Lacrosse team fell to Walsh University 19-4 Sunday afternoon at Nuttall Field in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game and Senior day for the Senators.

Kyle Durec scored a hat trick and
Matthew Dyck scored one, but the Senators weren't able to stop the Cavaliers.

After making some pressure and forcing the Senators' goalkeeper
Kyle Seago to make a couple of saves, Walsh broke into D&E's defense scoring the first of the day in the fourth minute of the game and another goal two minutes later, forcing the Senators to call a timeout.

The Senators went a man up because of an Illegal equipment penalty and took the opportunity to score two goals in a minute with Durec, assisted by
Matt O'Dwyer, scoring the first one and Dyck grabbing the second goal to tie the game 2-2.

D&E kept up with the visitors until the last minute of the first quarter but ended up conceding two goals in the final 48 seconds.

Walsh started strong in the second quarter scoring two goals 26 seconds apart in the first two minutes to go up 6-2.

D&E got back into the game with a couple of shots on target before Durec scored his second, once again assisted by O'Dwyer, with 8:51 remaining in the half to cut the difference to three goals, forcing the team from Ohio to call a timeout.

Walsh scored next, three minutes later, and then would score two more goals before the end of the first half to go into the break 9-3.

The visitors needed four minutes to score the first goal of the 3rd period. Four minutes later, they would put two more in within a minute.

With 5:23 remaining in the 3rd quarter, D&E got its fourth goal of the game and third from Durec, who scored his 16th goal of the season. Once again, he was assisted by O'Dwyer.

Walsh responded and scored the last goal of the period with 4:13 left on the clock to make it 13-4. The visitors would go on to add six more goals in the final quarter.

Kyle Seago played the first half in goal for the Senators making seven saves.

Luke Norcross was D&E's goalkeeper for the second half, finishing with eight saves.

Brayden McGregor led the way for the Senators with six ground balls.

The Senators will travel to Philippi on Wednesday for another G-MAC battle, going up against Alderson Broaddus at 7:00 p.m.
