ELKINS - The Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis team closed out the regular season on Saturday with a 5-4 victory over Cedarville to keep postseason aspirations alive.

The Senators started out with victories in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Andrew Shand and
Tristram Spitsnaugle earned an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 match over Philip Brumbaugh and Luke Ingles.

At the same tiem,
Mason Schoonover and
Jacob Bowman went on to clinch a 9-7 victory over Ryan Cvammen and Chris Tsibouris in the No. 3 match.

In singles play,
Obert Matthew Mulyadi overcame a first set tiebreaker defeat, falling 11-9 to lose 7-6. Mulyadi then won 6-3, 6-2 to clinch a key poin in the No. 1 singles matcht.

Spitsnaugle also needed a third set tiebreaker in the No. 4 match after falling 4-6 in the opening set. Spitsnaugle then defeated Ingles 6-4, 6-0 to win the second of three points needed for the match.

Andrew Shand earned the other point for the Senators sweeping through Brumbaugh 6-2, 6-3 for the victory in the No. 3 match.

Davis & Elkins will now wait for final seeding in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament, which starts April 20 in Owensboro, Kentucky.
