OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis team fell to Hillsdale College 5-0 on Friday in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Semifinals to see its season come to a close.
The Senators had a tough time in doubles action keeping pace with the top overall seed and G-MAC regular season champions, dropping all three matches.
Obert Matthew Mulyadi and
Alejandro Meseguer had the closest match, falling in No. 1 double to Justin Hyman and Charlie Adams 8-6.
Andrew Shand and
Tristram Spitsnaugle dropped their No. 2 doubles match to Dugan Delp and John Ciraci 8-3.
The match ended quickly in singles despite some strong performances.
Jacob Bowman fell to Ciraci 6-0, 6-1 in the first defeat and Mason Shoonover lost to Michael Szabo 6-0, 6-0 in the deciding point.
With the loss, the Senators season comes to a close. The Senators finish the season at 3-15 with a 1-7 mark in G-MAC play that earned D&E the final seed in the postseason tournament.
