ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins Women's Tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over Ursuline College Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play at the Thomas Tennis Center.
 
The Senators bounced back after yesterday's defeat with a great start, including two 8-0 victories in doubles play with Laura Fermosel and Elise Simon dominating Roslyn Ng and Elizabeth Weber, while Ester Bolmenas and Laura Vargas defeated Ashley Duncan and Megan Fortney.
 
In singles action, four Senators earned perfect 6-0, 6-0 victories. In the No. 5 match, Amanda Fewster clinched the first singles win, defeating Alexa Odom.
 
Simon then defeated Weber in the No. 2 match. Bolmenas then defeated Fortney in the No. 4 match, just ahead of Vargas defeating Duncan in the No. 3 match.
 
Fermosel closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory in the No. 1 match over Ng.
 
Davis & Elkins will now set their sights on a conference match with the University of Findlay on April 7. The match is set for a 10:00 a.m. in Ohio.
