MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis team fell to Hillsdale Sunday morning dropping the Great Midwest Athletic Conference match 9-0 at the Ridgeview Racquet Club.
Andrew Shand and
Tristram Spitsnaugle had the tightest doubles match to begin the event. The duo earned several game victories before eventually falling 8-4 to Dugan Delp and John Ciraci.
In singles action, Shand and
Obert Matthew Mulyadi both fell 6-2, 6-2 in their singles matches to Justin Hyman and Milan Mirkovic, respectively.
Spitsnaugle had the tightest match of the day, needing a third-set tiebreaker to decide the final point of the match. Spitsnaugle won the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (4). However, Delp earned a 6-1 win in set two and then defeated Spitsnaugle 10-4 in the third-set tiebreaker.
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Friday, March 23, as the Senators take on Findlay. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start at the Thomas Tennis Center.
