GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell on the road Monday night at Glenville State 78-75 in non-conference action.
The Senators took a 37-32 lead into the break and expanded on the lead early in the second half to as much as 13. However, Davis & Elkins was unable to hold onto the lead as the hosts reeled back in the Senators to tie the game at 59 with 6:07 remaining.
With 3:06 remaining, the Pioneers took the lead and the Senators were unable to answer back, falling by three.
Jordan McElveen led the way for the Senators, scoring 23 points. McElveen finished with eight rebounds, two shy of a double-double. The junior also had three steals and two blocks.
Rickenjee Bellevue did pick up a double-double for the Senators, scorin 19 points, while also grabbing 12 rebounds. Bellevue also had two blocks.
Edmund Parker joined the duo in double figures, scoring 10 points in the game.
Kevin Simpson led the Senators with seven assists to go along with his seven points and three rebounds.
The Senators will return to action on Thursday when they travel to face Ohio Valley in Great Midwest play. Davis & Elkins will tipoff against the Fighting Scots at 7:30 p.m. in Vienna.
