PHILIPPI, W.Va. –
Kevin Simpson set a new Great Midwest Athletic Conference record for three pointers in a game has he scored 34 points overall to lead the Senators to a 96-61 victory over Alderson Broaddus on Saturday.
Simpson hit 10 of his 14 three pointers to break the record of nine which was held by three players, including former Senator
Wesley Sprinkle.
Simpson was 11 for 15 overall in the game and scored 20 points in the first half to help the Senators out to a 41-20 lead at the break. He also finished with five rebounds and five assists.
The Senators continued to pull away with 55 points in the second half, outscoring the Battlers by 14 with 51 percent shooting for the game.
Edmund Parker and
Jordan McElveen were also in double figures. Parker scored 20 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals.
McElveen had 12 points, missing a double-double by one rebound as he finished with nine.
Davis & Elkins will remain on the road for its third of four consecutive games away from McDonnell next week when it travels to Glenville to take on Glenville State in non-conference action. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on Monday.
