CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Cedarville 88-69 Thursday evening in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play in Ohio.
The Senators took an early lead and held the advantage through the first media timeout, but Cedarville would answer back, and the teams traded the lead several times before
Donte Doleman's three pointer tied the game up at 28 with 6:51 remaining in the first half.
From there, the hosts would pull away from the Senators, using a 17-5 run to close the half and take a 12-point lead into the break.
Coming out of halftime, the Senators were unable to match the scoring output of the Yellow Jackets, as Cedarville continued to pull away by 21 with 11:16 remaining.
Over the next four minutes the Senators would make a strong charge and cut the deficit to nine points with another basket from Doleman with 7:12 remaining, but Cedarville would answer back with a 17-8 run to close out the game.
Doleman finished with 15 points in the game for the Senators.
Rickenjee Bellevue led the way for D&E, scoring 16 points while sharing a team-high seven rebounds with
Jordan McElveen. McElveen would add a team-high three steals.
Edmund Parker also finished in double figures for the Senators, scoring 13 in the contest.
The Senators will close out the season on Saturday as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio Dominican. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
