COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Ohio Dominican 80-62 on Saturday, closing the Senators 2017-18 season.
The Senators never led in the game, falling behind quickly against the Panthers and unable to match the scoring output of the hosts in the first half. The Senators went into the break trailing by 18 and were unable to close the gap in the second half.
Rickenjee Bellevue grabbed a double-double in his final game for the Senators. Bellevue had 17 points to share a team-high in the game and also 15 rebounds for the Senators, leading all players in the contest.
Trevor English also had 17 points in the contest for Davis & Elkins. English went 8-for-14 in the game and had three rebounds.
In a very even game, the Senators were held to 32 percent shooting for the game, while Ohio Dominican had 39 percent shooting for the game.
The Senators also shot just 17 percent from behind the arc, while the Panthers shot 39 percent.
With the loss, the Senators season comes to a close after Davis & Elkins fails to qualify for the G-MAC Tournament, as the expanded conference in 2017-18 takes just eight of 12 teams.
