PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team's season came to a close Saturday afternoon as their comeback bid fell short against Lake Erie College 3-2.
 
The Senators fell behind 2-0 with set defeats of 25-21 and 25-15. The Senators then forced a fifth set with victories of 25-22 and 25-14 in sets three and four. However, Lake Erie would hold on with a 15-9 victory in the deciding set.
 
Solei Daniels led the Senators with 18 kills in the match. 
Kaitlyn LaCour and 
Lillie Mueller joined Daniels in double figures with 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Mueller led the Senators with a .609 attacking percentage, finishing 14-of-23 in attacks with no errors.
 
Elyse Bonnett led the Senators with 28 assists, while 
Jessa Henry finished with 20 assists.
 
Defensively, LaCour, 
Kelly Smith and senior 
Briana Hoffmann all finished with 10 digs in the match to lead the way for Davis & Elkins. 
Madi Gil and Bonnett had eight and seven digs, respectively.
 
At the net, the Senators were led in blocking by senior 
Charisse Mitchell. Mitchell had one solo block and four assisted blocks.
 
LaCour and Mueller finished with four assisted blocks each as well.
 
Gil and Smith led the Senators in serving. Gil finished with three service aces and Smith had two.
 
With the loss, the Senators season comes to a close as Davis & Elkins fails to qualify for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament next week.
