Women's Basketball Sets Program Record of 22 3-Pointers in Victory Over Salem University

ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team set a program record of 22 3-pointers in the 108-60 victory over Salem University Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Senators dominated the game from start to finish. 
 
D&E came out hot and cruised to a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
 
The Senators continued the hot shooting in the second quarter, extending the lead to 20 at half time.

D&E shot 10-of-16 from beyond the arc in the first half.
 
D&E extended the lead in the third quarter to 32 points as they led SU 78-46 at the end of the quarter.
 
The Senators continued the hot shooting from behind the arc in the fourth quarter. Freshman Sydney Snyder made six three-pointers in the fourth quarter alone, leading D&E to a 48-point victory over the Tigers. 
 
The Senators held the Tigers to 31 percent shooting, while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the arc.  
 
Snyder led the team with 30 points, and tied the program record of 10 3-pointers set by Sydney Turner against Bluefield State in 2016. Snyder also had a rebound in 19 minutes of action.
 
Aliyah Dukes had 21 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out four assists, and had a steal.
 
Sydney Turner had 20 points, six rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Turner also shot 6-for-11 from the 3-point line.
 
Nicole Armstrong scored 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
 
The Senators return to action on Saturday to take on conference opponent Ohio Valley. Tip-off is at 12 p.m.
