Tina Wulin's first goal of the season enabled Davis & Elkins to earn a 1-1 deadlock against Malone Saturday in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action at Nuttall Field.
The Senators (0-3-2, 0-1-2 G-MAC) trailed 1-0 at the half before knotting the game up 12:43 into the second frame when Wulin found the back of the net unassisted. Wulin's initial shot was blocked in front, but the senior recovered to poke home the tying goal.
Abby Alexa had a key chance in overtime to get the winner, but was denied by McKenzie Chappell. Later in the same overtime session, Alexa and the Senators had a penalty claim as the freshman appeared to be taken down from behind in the box on a quality scoring opportunuty.
Malone (2-1-2, 0-0-2) held a 16-15 advantage on shots on goal and a 10-5 edge in corner kicks for the contest. Davis & Elkins keeper
Lauren Hill had nine saves for the hosts.
Danielle Lung had the lone score in the contest for the visitors. Natalie Martorana assisted on the goal.
The Senators will travel to Ursuline for another conference match up on Thursday.
