ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Baseball team wrapped up its non-conference schedule on Tuesday, falling to West Liberty 6-5 at Harpertown Field.

The Senators fell behind early, as West Liberty capitalized on an error to score a run in the top of the first and take a lead.

Hunter Thomas would cut into the deficit with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth, scoring Johnny Liu. Corey Mays would then have an RBI base hit to left field, scoring Michael Wood later in the inning.

However, with the game still tied in the ninth, the Hilltoppers capitalized on a pair of walks from Tyler Mason and were able to plate the go ahead run, giving the visitors the eventual win.
