PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Lacrosse team closed out the regular season on Saturday, falling to Alderson Broaddus 19-2 on the road.
The Senators struggled early, as the Battlers scored six goals in the first eight minutes to take a commanding lead.
Davis & Elkins would get on the scoresheet with
Gabby Fagan's effort off an assist from
Sonja Skinner at the 21:12 mark of the first half.
It was Fagan's team leading 16th goal of the season.
Alderson Broaddus would score nine more goals to end the first period with a 15-1 lead.
In the second half,
Tonisha Washington started the scoring, taking a pass from
Grayson Blythe to beat the goalie and score her second goal of the season.
The hosts would grab the final four goals of the contest.
The Senators will return to Philippi on Wednesday for the opening round of the G-MAC Tournament. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start.
