PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Baseball team fell in a pair of games against Ohio Valley in G-MAC play on Friday at Bennett Stump Field. The Senators fell 6-3 in game one before losing 17-3 in game two.
Davis & Elkins took a lead in the second inning of game one with
Johnny Liu's RBI single to left that scored
Tanner Ray.
However, Ohio Valley would score two in the third and then two more in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.
The Senators answered back with two runs in the fifth inning, cutting the lead to 4-3 on Ray's double to left field that scored
Bragg Eastin and
Cody Gwinn.
Ohio Valley would extend their lead to 6-3 with two runs on an error in the seventh.
In game two, the hosts would take a lead with a run in the first inning. Ohio Valley would then score 11 runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead.
Dominic Bianchini would single to score
Robbie McKinney in the sixth inning for the Senators.
Nick Dellavalle would then single to right and
Steven White would score on the play in the seventh. Dellavalle then scored on a McKinney groundout to cap the scoring for the Senators.
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Sunday when the two teams complete the four-game series.
