NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Lacrosse team returned to action on Tuesday, falling on the road at Walsh University 8-3 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Senators fell behind early, as the Cavaliers scored three goals in the first five minutes to take the lead.
Davis & Elkins would respond with a pair of late first quarter goals.
Matthew Dyck scored first for the Senators, off a feed from
Matt O'Dwyer, with 2:38 remaining.
Mike Tokar then struck right before the end of the quarter, scoring with one second left to cut the lead for Walsh to 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.
Dyck would then tie the game up with 3:04 remaining in the first half, scoring the only goal of the second quarter off another pass from O'Dwyer.
However, the Senators would be held scoreless the rest of the way, as the hosts scored one in the third and four in the fourth.
Kyle Seago made eight saves in goals, while allowing eight goals. Seago also scooped a team-high three ground balls and forced a turnover.
Dyck, Tokar,
Michael Holstein and
Noah Jessey each had a pair of ground balls. Jessey also led the Senators with two caused turnovers.
The Senators will return to action on Saturday as they host Ohio Valley for a G-MAC battle. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
