Softball Falls In Doubleheader To Close Trevecca Series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Davis & Elkins College Softball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene 4-1 and 9-0 on Saturday to wrap up the opening weekend of Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.

The Senators trailed 1-0 in game one, but grabbed a seventh inning run off the bat of Kelsie Millner as she singled to score Stephanie Turner and tie the game at one.

However, the Trojans would bounce back in the top of the eighth inning to score three runs and defeat the Senators 4-1.

Millner was 3-for-3 in the game, leading the Senators' bats. Turner also had a multi-hit game, finishing with two of the Senators' nine hits.

Allie Lapallo was dealt the loss, tossing 7.1 innings, giving up all four runs, three earned.

In game two, the Senators could not get the bats going, as Davis & Elkins was only able to get three base hits.

Trevecca jumped out in front with three runs in the top of the first and then added two runs in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

Victoria Krystynak had the loss, giving up six earned runs with just one strikeout.

Davis & Elkins will return to action on March 28, playing at Salem International in a doubleheader. The games are set for a 2 p.m. start in Salem.
