CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Lacrosse team fell to the University of Charleston 19-4 on Wednesday at Schoenbaum Stadium.
The Senators were on the scoreboard early as
Gabby Fagan tied things up at 1 with a goals less than three minutes in and 32 seconds after the hosts opened up the scoring.
However, the hosts would reel off 12 straight goals to end the first half and then opened the second half with two more goals.
Fagan would get the Senators back on the scoresheet with her second of the game at the 24:50 mark of the second half.
Following three goals by Charleston,
Olivia Owens and
Savannah Stanford would score to give the Senators their third and fourth goals of the game.
Stanford would share the lead for the Senators with two ground balls.
Natalie Green and
Desma Feather also had a pair of ground balls each.
Fagan would finish with a team high three draw controls along with teammate
Kathleen Shaw. Stanford also had two.
The Senators will have over a week off before returning to action for their home opener on April 1. The game against Walsh is set for a 1 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
