HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Lacrosse team fell to Alabama-Huntsville 22-3 Friday night in the first of two games in two days in Alabama.
The Senators (0-2) struggled against the Lady Chargers (8-1) early on, allowing 16 goals to just one scored in the first 30 minutes, large in part to a 17-1 draw control in favor of the hosts.
Gabby Fagan scored the goal for the Senators in the first half, her second goal of the season.
In the second half,
Olivia Owens scored twice for the Senators, her first two goals of the year. The first came on the man-advantage with 22:06 remaining in the half.
Owens would add her second goal as the final goal of the game with 5:43 remaining.
Ebele De La Bay Coffie led the Senators with four ground balls from the goal in the second half. De La Bay Coffie stopped nine shots in 46:25.
Lydia Eichorst had the other five saves for the Senators.
Morgan Graham also had two ground balls.
Anahi Gomez and De La Bay Coffie each had a caused turnover.
Fagan led the team with a pair of draw controls.
The Senators will return to action tomorrow at Montevallo. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
