HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team dropped its Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest against Hillsdale College 78-59 Tuesday evening.
The Senators struggled in the first half, shooting just 25 percent from the field for 15 points and were unable to recover after trailing by 22 heading into the break.
In the second half, the Senators shot 56 percent from the field, but were never able to cut the deficit to single digits as Hillsdale kept pace to hold onto their advantage.
Trevor English was a bright spot for the Senators, shooting .571 for the game, leading all Senators, and second among all scorers in the game, with 19 points. English tied his second highest career point total in the contest.
The sophomore center also led D&E with six rebounds.
Kevin Simpson was the only other Senator in double figures, scoring 10 points to go along with two steals and a rebound.
The Senators will head into their winter break, returning to action on December 30 against Findlay. D&E will host the Oilers at 2 p.m. in the McDonnell Center. The game will also be the Senators Canned Food Drive game, with all donations of a non-perishable food item earning free admission to the game.
