Aurora, IL. – Volleyball fell to Missouri-St. Louis 3-1 on Friday afternoon.
In the first set, the Senators quickly fell to a 7-point deficit and trimmed the deficit to 2 points, before ultimately falling 25-21.
In the second set, the Senators and Tritons exchanged leads until UMSL took the lead for good and won the set 25-22.
In the third set, D&E and UMSL went back and forth until the Senators took won the game 26-24 from kills by
Kaitlyn LaCour and
Raleighanne Weaver.
In the fourth set, D&E had an early lead but the Tritons came back and won the set 25-17.
Kaitlyn LaCour led the team in kills with ten, followed by
Lillie Mueller and
Sasha Johnson, who had nine each.
Anna Gallup had eight kills.
LaCour,
Zoe Craig and
Kelly Smith each had two aces.
Johnson and
Alexa Smarra each had four blocks, followed by
Raleighanne Weaver with three.
Craig had 18 assists, followed by
Elyse Bonnett with 13 assists, and Smith with 7.
Smith led the team with fifteen digs, followed by LaCour with thirteen, and Craig with ten.
Both LaCour (10 kills, 13 digs) and Craig (18 assists, 10 digs) had a double-double.
The Senators return to action on Saturday against Northwood at 10 a.m. CT.
