OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Davis & Elkins College Senators fell in a battle of the top two Great Midwest Athletic Conference teams with a 95-76 loss to No. 23 Kentucky Wesleyan on the road Thursday night at the Sportscenter.
The Senators (8-10, 3-1 G-MAC) were outpaced by Kentucky Wesleyan (15-2, 4-0 G-MAC) over the first 13 minutes, falling behind by 13 and D&E was never able to recover. The hosts would open as much as a 34-point lead early in the second half before the Senators worked their way back.
Jordan McElveen led the Senators with 18 points on the night and collected seven rebounds and three assists.
Kevin Bracy-Davis kept his streak of double-digits points going with 16 in the game. The senior also had seven rebounds.
Trevor English and
Kevin Simpson also finished in double-digits with 11 points each. English was also second on the team with eight rebounds.
Rickenjee Bellevue came off a G-MAC record 22-rebound performance and followed it up with 15 more in the game. Bellevue also had four points and a block.
Davis & Elkins will remain on the road as they head to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday. The game is set for a 5 p.m. ET tipoff.
