ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College earned its second straight win to begin G-MAC play with a 69-53 win over Ohio Valley University in the McDonnell Center.
The Senators struggled early but overcame the rough start to take a 13-point lead into the break. Davis & Elkins kept pace in the second half to steer clear of a comeback effort by the visitors.
Kevin Bracy-Davis had a big night for the Senators, led by a strong first half. The senior had 14 points and nine rebounds in the opening 20 minutes.
Bracy-Davis finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds. He also had three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Donte Doleman joined Bracy-Davis in double figures, recording 10 points to go along with four rebounds and two assists.
Trevor English and
Jordan McElveen each finished with nine points and eight rebounds in the game. English had four assists and two steals. McElveen also chipped in with two assists.
The Senators will return to action on Saturday with another G-MAC game against Cedarville. The game is set for a 4 p.m. tip off at the McDonnell Center.
