Box Score 2 Game One
The Basics:
- Score: 1-5
- Records: Davis & Elkins (28-15, 11-8) – Cedarville (21-24, 12-9)
- Location: Joni Smith Field, Elkins, West Virginia
How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the top of the second with a pair of runs on three hits. They would extend the lead with two unearned runs on two hits and an error in the third to go up 4-0.
- The Senators would answer back with a run in the bottom of the third as Kayla Whoolery grounded into a fielder's choice with runners on the corners that scored Chelsie Stover. However, it was the only run the Senators would plate in the contest.
- Cedarville would add a fifth run in the top of the fourth before the pitchers would toss scoreless outings for the remainder of the contest.
- Whoolery and Katie Mason led the Senators offensively, with each recording a hit and walk in the game.
- Allie Lapallo (20-9) was dealt the loss in the circle, allowing five runs, three earned, on 11 hits. Lapallo had two walks and two strikeouts in the contest.
Game Two
The Basics:
- Score: 7-4
- Records: Davis & Elkins (29-15, 12-8) – Cedarville (21-25, 12-10)
- Location: Joni Smith Field, Elkins, West Virginia
How it Happened:
- Cedarville jumped out to a lead in the top of the first, capitalizing on a two-out error to go up 1-0.
- After a scoreless second, Davis & Elkins took the lead on a two-RBI double to left center by Alyssa Cairns with the bases loaded, which scored Katlyn Huffman and Katelyn Norton.
- The Yellow Jackets then regained the lead in the fourth with two more runs to go up 3-2.
- After the Senators answered back and tied things in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single by Norton to score Cairns, Cedarville retook the lead with a run in the top of the fifth to hold a 4-3 lead.
- Davis & Elkins piled on its big inning in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs in the inning to retake the lead for good. Cairns had an RBI single through the right side to tie the game. Danielle Norton then gave the Senators the lead with a bases clearing double to right center.
- Victoria Krystynak (7-6) earned the win in the circle with 3.2 innings of work in relief. She gave up just one run on three hits. Taylor Norton pitched 3.1 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits and one walk.
Senator Synopsis:
"I was frustrated with our performance in the first game," said Head Coach Kimberly Stiles, "But I was very happy with our ability to have clutch hitting and pitching when we needed it to win game two."

The Senators host Cedarville tomorrow, April 19th, at home. The game times are 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
