The Basics

How it Happened:

• Allie Lapallo singled up the middle in the top of the first inning to score Alyssa Cairns and Danielle Norton and give D&E an early 2-0 lead.
• The Battlers got one run back in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Jazmine Martin single.
• Allie Lapallo earned the win for the Senators in the complete game, yielding four hits with six strikeouts.

Game Two

• Score: 2-3
• Records: Davis & Elkins (18-12) – Alderson Broaddus (9-17)
• Location: Philippi, WV

How it Happened:

• Alyssa Cairns doubled in the top of the third inning to score Kayla Whoolery and make the score 1-0.
• Alderson Broaddus scored one run in the fourth inning on three hits and an error before the Senators worked out of the bases loaded jam.
• The Battlers took 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning on an Ashley Baker single and RBI.
• D&E was able to tie the game in the top half of the frame.  Danielle Norton reached on a fielder's choice, advanced to second a wild pitch before being lifted for pinch runner Kaitlyn Giffin. Giffin was able to score on Alyssa Cairn's second double of the game to even the score.
• Pinch hitter Brianna homered to left field for the 3-2 walk off win.
• Lapallo took the loss for D&E, giving up three runs (two earned), seven hits and five strikeouts.

 Senator Synopsis:

"We struggled to do the little things correctly today and it was costly" said head coach Kimberly Stiles.  "Winning the first game was great but we need to play better through the double header".
