Game One

The Basics

• Score: 2-0
• Records: Davis & Elkins (17-10) – WV Tech (10-17)
• Location: Smithers, WV

How it Happened:

• Neither the Senators or Golden Bears were able to score through the first four innings.  Kayla Whoolery singled in the top of the fifth inning, advanced to second on a passed ball and then scored on an Alyssa Cairns double.  Cairns then came around to score on a wild pitch give D&E a 2-0 lead.
• Kayla Whoolery and Alyssa Cairns both had two hits for the Senators.
• Allie Lapallo threw her second no hitter of the season for D&E, striking out three.

Game Two

• Score: 2-10
• Records: Davis & Elkins (17-11) – WV Tech  (11-17)
• Location: Smithers, WV

How it Happened:

• The Golden Bears scored first in the bottom of the second inning on two Tech hits.
• D&E quickly got the run back in the top of the third inning on a Danielle Norton solo home run.
• Tech exploded for six runs on eight hits in the bottom of fourth inning. The Senators were able to score one in the fifth making the score 8-2.  However, the Golden Bears tacked on two more in their half of the inning to make the score 10-2 and pick up the win.
• Taylor Norton had two doubles for the Senators.
• Victoria Krystynak took the loss for the Senators, throwing three innings.  Taylor Norton worked two innings in relief.

 Senator Synopsis:

"Allie threw very well for us in the first game" said head coach Kimberly Stiles.  "We have to hit better than we did today going into our conference games tomorrow and this weekend".
