How it Happened:

The Senators and Golden Eagles swapped scoreless frames through three complete innings before Clarion was able to break open the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Casey Wilcox hit a two out double and then was able to come around and score on a Christina Tressler single into left field.

D&E answered back in the top of the fifth with a Taylor Norton RBI double to score Kayla Whoolery and tie the game.

Katlyn Huffman doubled in the top of the sixth inning to score Alyssa Cairns who was hit by pitch to reach first base. Allie Lapallo hit a two run home run in the seventh inning to secure the 4-1 win.

Taylor Norton and Kayla Whoolery both had two hits. Allie Lapallo had three hits, including a home run.

Allie Lapallo picked up the win for D&E. Allowing just 3 hits, with a season high nine strikeouts and no walks.
Game Two vs. Virginia Union

How it Happened:

Virginia Union scored first in the second inning. Shontel Linnette hit a home run to put the Panthers on the board.

D&E answered back with three runs in the bottom of the inning off of three hits, a sacrifice fly and a Virginia Union error.

The Panthers were able to score six runs in the fourth inning, capped off with a three run Karrina Gooding home run.

D&E was able to score three more runs in the bottom of the inning to pull the Senators within a run. However, Virginia Union answered right back with another home run in the top of the fifth inning.

The Senators were able to get one run back in the bottom of the fifth inning on back to back doubles by Alyssa Cairns and Katelyn Norton.

Still down one run, in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Senators used hits from Katelyn Norton, Katlyn Huffman, Danielle Norton and Kayla Whoolery fielder's choice to score two runs and pick up the 9-8 win.

Victoria Krystynak started the game for the Senators – going 3.2 innings with two strikeouts and three hits with two walks. Taylor Norton came on in relief and picked up three strikeouts. Allie Lapallo came in to close out the game and picked up her second win of the day.
Senator Synopsis:
"It was nice to pick up two wins today", said head coach Kimberly Stiles. "There is always room to improve but I was happy with our ability to score runs when we needed them today".
