Bracy-Davis Leads Senators to First Win Over California (PA)

ELKINSKevin Bracy-Davis scored 35 points, including 26 in the second-half, and the Senators avenged a season-opening overtime loss to California (PA) on Wednesday night as Men's Basketball picked up a 79-64 victory for its first win of the season in the team's home opener at the McDonnell Center.

The Senators never trailed in the game, breaking away from a 2-2 tie to open a lead as large as 18 points in the first half from a very balanced offense as eight players scored in the opening 20 minutes.

Bracy-Davis led all scorers with nine in the first half, which was a very quiet started compared to 26 points in the second half by the senior.

California closed the deficit to seven points in the second half, but a Bracy-Davis led offense from Davis & Elkins quickly worked the game back to double digits, opening as much as a 17-point lead.

Bracy-Davis was excellent from the floor, shooting 12-for-15, including 4-for-6 from behind the arc. The Cincinnati, Ohio native was also 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. He also added six rebounds and chipped in with three assists, three blocks and three steals.

Rickenjee Bellevue led the effort on the glass for the Senators, grabbing 16 rebounds to go along with six points and a team-high four blocks. Bellevue also had a pair of assists on the night.

The Senators spread the ball around well in the contest, as nine players had at least one basket and eight Senators had at least one assist for a total of 17 in the game. Donte Doleman led the team with four assists and also contributed five points and a steal.

The Senators will return to action on Saturday, as Davis & Elkins plays host to Saint Augustine's University. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip off at the McDonnell Center.
