DENVER, Colo. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Metropolitan State University – Denver 101-86 after a late surge by the Roadrunners on Friday night.
The teams traded the lead multiple times with the Senators holding a 5-point advantage, Davis & Elkins' largest lead of the night, in the early part of the second half.
However, the Roadrunners followed it up with a 15-4 run and the Senators were unable to answer back, as Metro State slowly pulled away over the final five minutes of the game.
Edmund Parker led the way for the Senators, scoring 19 points off the bench for D&E. Parker also led the team with six rebounds and chipped in with two blocks and a steal.
Kevin Bracy-Davis finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
Kevin Simpson had 11 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists.
Donte Doleman,
Teron Owens and
Wesley Sprinkle all finished with 10 points in the game. Doleman and Owens each had three rebounds and a steal.
Rickenjee Bellevue also had three blocks in the game.
The Senators will return to action on Saturday as they wrap up the Denver trip with a 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT tip off against Regis (CO) University.
