DENVER, Colo. - The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Regis University 80-75 to wrap up the road trip to the Mountain West and a 5-game road swing to begin the season.
The Senators rallied from several small deficits in the second half, but were unable to keep pace with the undefeated Rangers over the final few minutes, who hit a pair of key three pointers to hold on.
Wesley Sprinkle and
Kevin Bracy-Davis led the Senators to a 34-30 first half lead, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Bracy-Davis finished with a team-high 23 points and earned his third double-double of the season with 11 rebounds. The senior is averaging 21 points and 8.8 rebounds per game through the first six road games.
Sprinkle finished with 17 points and was joined by
Kevin Simpson in double figures, as Simpson scored 10 points to go along with a pair of rebounds and steals.
Rickenjee Bellevue finished a basket shy of a double-double, as the junior finished with 10 rebounds, to lead the team, and eight points.
The Senators will return home and play in their home opener on Wednesday against California (PA). The two teams need overtime in the season opener at California.
