MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team's comeback rally fell short on Sunday as the Senators fell to Chowan 85-82.
The Senators trailed by as much as 15 with 10:30 remaining in the second half, but the Senators made a late charge and used turnovers by Chowan to tie the game at 80 with 40 seconds left.
However, Davis & Elkins was unable to keep up with Chowan at the free-throw line in the last half minute, missing a couple chances.
Kevin Bracy-Davis led the Senators in scoring with 22. Bracy-Davis also had three rebounds, a block and a steal.
Teron Owens and
Kevin Simpson also were in double figures. Owens finished with 21 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Simpson had 16 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Rickenjee Bellevue led the team with 12 rebounds and had six points, but fouled out of the game.
The Senators will return to action on Tuesday when they travel up to Clarion, Pennsylvania to take on Clarion University. Tip off is set for 5 p.m.
