Davis and Elkins College Athletics

Jackson Gibson, a 2025 graduate of Davis & Elkins College, returned to his alma mater in August 2025 as the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field programs. 

As a student-athlete at D&E, Gibson was a two-time national qualifier in cross country (2023 and 2024) and a member of the 2024 Mountain East Conference and Atlantic Region championship teams. On the track, he earned multiple All-MEC honors and won the indoor mile title at the 2024 MEC Championships. He currently holds the school records in the outdoor 1,500 meters (3:50.43) and mile (4:07.75). 

Off the track, Gibson served as president of the Accounting Club and earned Academic Achievement Awards from the Department of Sport Science and the Department of Business and Entrepreneurship. He was named to the Atlantic Region All-Academic Team each year from 2022 to 2025. 

Before joining the D&E coaching staff, Gibson worked as an online running coach, developing individualized training plans for high school athletes. He is CPR certified and is currently gaining experience in all areas of collegiate coaching under Head Coach Jason Pyles. 

Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and sports management from Davis & Elkins.
