Homegrown Leader Tycen Allan Steps Up as Head Coach of Davis & Elkins Men’s Lacrosse
Tycen Allan was named the head men’s lacrosse coach at Davis & Elkins College in the summer of 2025, marking a new chapter in his promising coaching career and his deep commitment to the Senators’ lacrosse program. A native of High River, Alberta, Canada, Tycen has been intricately connected to Davis & Elkins lacrosse for nearly a decade, first as a standout player, then as a dedicated assistant coach, and now as the leader ready to elevate the program to new heights.
Tycen’s lacrosse journey at Davis & Elkins began in 2018 when he joined the Senators as a student-athlete. Over the course of his collegiate playing career, which spanned from 2018 to 2022, he emerged as a defensive cornerstone and natural leader on the field. His leadership qualities were recognized early and throughout his tenure, as he served as a team captain for two consecutive years. Known for his tenacity, strategic understanding of the game, and relentless work ethic, Tycen was instrumental in anchoring the Senators’ defense and fostering a competitive team culture.
Upon concluding his playing career, Tycen transitioned seamlessly into coaching, bringing firsthand experience and an intimate knowledge of the program’s culture and values. In 2024, he joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach, where he quickly proved to be an invaluable asset in player development, defensive schemes, and recruiting. His ability to connect with players and instill a mindset of consistency and discipline stood out, making an immediate positive impact on the team’s performance and overall environment.
