Anthony Courcelle comes to D&E after his Lacrosse playing career at Division I Marquette University, where he played for 6 years under coaches Joe Amplo, Jake Richard and Andrew Stimmel.
While at Marquette, Courcelle played LSM but quickly transitioned into a lockdown short stick defensive midfielder. Unfortunately, he finished out his collegiate lacrosse career with an injury, and the Golden Eagles had an early exit at the Big East tournament.
Courcelle was also heavily involved in coaching wheelchair lacrosse in Milwaukee during his time at Marquette. He continues to be very involved in the growth of the adaptive sports game in Florida with the introduction of a new Miami team.
At D&E, Coach Courcelle will take on the Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator roles under Head Coach Michael Zadroga. The two were teammates at Marquette University and look to bring a similar defensive-minded game to D&E Lacrosse with Anthony joining the staff.
Courcelle, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., played high school football and lacrosse at Cypress Bay High School in South Florida before joining the Marquette LAX team. He is currently working toward his Masters Degree. He also currently plays professional box lacrosse in the PBLA for the Salem Mayhem, where he looks to help his team to a successful season in their inaugural year.
