Zach Cooke is in his second season as the Assistant Coach for the Men's Basketball program. Cooke assists the Senators Basketball program in all elements of the game under the direction of head coach Nick Patella.
In his first year with the Senators, Cooke helped the team to its second-best season in the last 36 years, which featured a third-place finish in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season. Cooke helped coach three All-Conference performers, including G-MAC Player of the Year Kevin Bracy Davis, All-Conference player Rickenjee Bellevue and All-Freshmen team award winner Donte Doleman.
Cooke is very familiar with Division II basketball in the region, after graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he played for three seasons from 2010-13. The guard was a career .429 shooter for the Bobcats in three seasons.
The Morgantown, WV native played for a team that made it to the NCAA Division II Tournament as a sophomore and went back as a junior, helping the Bobcats to the second round.
Cooke also played at Stevenson University for one season as a freshman. During his year in Baltimore, Cooke played in 23 games, shooting .358 from the field and .343 from behind the arc.
Before his time with the Senators, Cooke worked at Pierpont Community & Technical College in Fairmont and also worked as a Personal Trainer for HIT Center in Morgantown.
Cooke graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2013.
