Nomination into the Davis & Elkins College Athletics Hall of Fame shall consist of two categories:
- Student-Athletes
- Coaches, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Friends of Davis & Elkins College Athletics.
Nominations are accepted via online form here
Nominations will be considered with respect to the following criteria in each of categories above:
Student-Athletes
- Alumnus/alumna for a minimum of 10 years
- Participated as a varsity student-athlete
- Graduate of Davis & Elkins College
Student-Athlete Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Playing ability
- Integrity
- Sportsmanship
- Character Contributions
- Leadership
- Honors or Recognition
- Achievements
- Post-graduate Work and Service
Non-athletes (Coaches, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Friends of D&E Athletics)
- No longer work for D&E and have not been associated with D&E for a minimum of 5 years
- Coaches, Faculty, Staff, Administrators must have served a minimum of 4 years of service at D&E
Non-Athlete Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Integrity
- Leadership
- Character contributions
- Honors or recognition
- Achievements at D&E and beyond

Current Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator
Current Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations

*Alumna/Alumnus 10-19 years removed from graduation
*Alumna/Alumnus 20-29 years removed from graduation
*Alumna/Alumnus 30-39 years removed from graduation
*Alumna/Alumnus 40+ years removed from graduation
*Not required if vacancy cannot be filled
Selection Process
The selection committee will select no more than (5) individuals annually (excluding any posthumous inductees)
with no more than (1) individual from any sport (excluding if an entire team is inducted).
The selection committee will review all nominations annually and any nominations will remain active for future
consideration of induction into the Hall of Fame for four years. A person may be nominated again after four years
of active consideration.
The committee will meet at least twice each academic year either in-person, via phone or combination of both.
Each committee member will rank the active nominations from highest to lowest consideration. The committee votes
will be totaled and nominees are ranked by highest point totals. The committee will then review the list and determine
selection of the current year's induction class, along with (3) alternates.
The committee chair will communicate selection and invitation to candidates for induction into the Hall of Fame.
Should a candidate be unable to attend the current Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the committee will select from the
list of alternates.
Athletic Hall of Fame Award
The Hall of Fame inductees will receive a wall plaque and a red blazer. An identical wall plaque will be placed in
the Athletic Hall of Fame in the Butler Lobby of the McDonnell Center.
