Acrobatics & Tumbling Meet Format

MEET STRUCTURE AND TEAM PARTICIPATION
Acrobatics and Tumbling meets are typically held as a match between 2-4 teams. Each meet is exciting, fast paced, and fan friendly. Each team has up to 28 competitors on their game-day roster and compete in six events throughout the meet.

Scoring is based upon pre-determined difficulty start values. Each skill performed is valued by the Officials of the NCATA prior to the meet. Teams submit their skill sequences one week prior to the meet. Officials perform two primary functions at the meet:

1. Monitor the skills being performed to ensure that each element is correctly performed to equate to the posted start difficulty value.
2. Evaluate the execution and technique of the skills performed. Scores are posted immediately following the conclusion of the performance, and overall standings are displayed throughout the meet.

In a competition, a team can score up to 300 points. The team with the highest overall score is declared the winner.

The typical duration is roughly two hours. A meet is made up of six events: Compulsory, Stunt, Pyramids, Basket Tosses, Tumbling, and Team Routine. All event competition is in team rotation throughout each event. The rotation order is predetermined by the Head Official prior to the beginning of the meet.
