Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Point Park University Saturday morning at F.N.B. Stadium.
The Senators move to 1-3-1 overall and 0-3-0 in Mountain East Conference play, while Point Park improves to 3-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in conference action.
After a scoreless opening half, Point Park broke through in the 48th minute when Reece Frank found the back of the net off an assist from Julie Rusiecki to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.
D&E looked for the equalizer throughout the remainder of the match but was unable to find the back of the net. The Senators recorded 10 shots, including three on goal, while Point Park finished with 11 shots and four shots on goal.
Emma Perez led D&E with one shot on goal, while Carolyne Mathenia added two shots on target off three total attempts. Gabriela Acevedo played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves.
The Senators earned two corner kicks in the match, while Point Park held a 7-2 advantage in corners.
D&E returns home Wednesday, Sept. 16, hosting Wheeling University in a MEC matchup at Nuttall Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
